Great food and atmosphere! They've won a ton of awards and they deserve it! I had the lentil soup and tea and my friend had the Greek salad with pita bread. Thus is the closest pita and get to perfection and that's not to discount the rest of our food because it was all stupendous. Delicious, 5 stars, needs more love!

I’ve been eating here for 27 years now and it never disappoints. Granted, the prices aren’t nearly the bargain they used to be, but the quality has never dipped. Always fresh ingredients, made to order, generous portions, and friendly staff. Mediterranean Cafe will always be my top lunch spot in downtown Madison.

Absolutely adorable spot! Really really enjoyed the chicken wrap and it really left me feeling satisfied! Also, the staff here are so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend stopping by!

Heard so much about Mediterranean Cafe and finally decided to try it and LOVED IT!! State street has a hidden gem. You all need to stop what you are doing and head to Med Cafe today. Mediterranean Cafe has been serving the Madison community for more than 20 years. It’s a casual and cozy restaurant serving Algerian food. The food here is delicious, has an authentic taste, and served quickly. You will go back here again after you have tried it once. We tried the chicken shawarma plate and chicken sandwich. The shawarma plate is served with rice, salad, hummus, and pita. The portion size is huge and I really thought I wouldn’t finish it. Once I started eating, I couldn’t stop and my plate was empty before you know it. The chicken and salad was so flavorful . The rice that accompanied it was also so well prepared. The chicken sandwich was also huge and so delicious. I cannot wait to go back there and try other things off their menu. Thank you to the person at the ordering station who recommended the shawarma plate to me, so so good!

Best little cash ethnic small business restaurant other than Himal Chuli still alive on State Street! Please support them! Amazing staff service and food! Try the lentil soup by itself or over rice always, and the greek salad!! If they have the Chicken Lemon Rice soup it is also an authentic winner :)

We decided to try this place when we were walking by. I ordered Falafel plate and lentil soup. The service was good and the food arrived quickly. Everything was so good - The soup was hot and hearty, hummus so creamy and falafel so tasty! I would highly recommend this place for your Mediterranean food cravings.

Cute little place, tastes great. Got the recommended beef&lamb shawarma and it was great and filling. The baklavas were good too.
